Itinerary

Fly to Addis Ababa

Over night at mado hotel.

 

Addis Ababa To Semera (region of afar)

Take a morning flight to Semera town of the Afar regional capital, pick from the airport with experienced drivers and excellent 4WD car with AC along a team of experienced expert guides , an excellent cook team, local guide and road leader from the tourism authorities, police escort , all camping gears ready to depart with you. Then head directly to Hamedela town of Dallol. Visit the Sunset at Lake Assale late in the afternoon. Overnight Hamedal /dallol camping site.

Early in the morning before sunrise we drive to the lunar landscape of Dallol geothermal site for an amazing wonder seen no where else in the planet. A chemical reaction happening right in front of you live face to face with row nature. You will revise your knowledge of colors from that moment on. After this we drive to the salt and mud formed mountain cave right underneath Dallol crater. Another 10 minutes drive and a completely different world. We will have a picnic breakfast in nearby this cave with wonder. After this visit we drive to the vast salt plains , the lake Karum swimming saltwater cold pool in that scorching sun and finally visit the salt miners before leaving back to Hamedela for some rest and after lunch we continue driving to Ertale active volcano. We reach our camping ground at the top of the Erta ale solt mountains. Walk 30 minutes until the summit crater lake currently at its active cycle. Enjoy the wonder happening sulfur spring right in front of you and walk back to the camping ground. We leave for the volcano around 5:30Pm late in the afternoon and walk back after visiting around 8:00PM.

Erta ale To semera via Afdera

In the morning wake up with the sun and after breakfast drive to Afdera salt lake town will stop for 5 munites to have a photos. The major hub for salt production and distribution lying at -102m below sea level and the highest temperature feeling in the Danakil depression. Have lunch in town, a glimpse of the salt lake, a walk along the salt farms and after this In the afternoon we drive back to Semera and take a late afternoon flight back to Addis Ababa.

Fly Addis Ababa - Arbaminch

On our first day we will fly from Addis Ababa to Arba Minch. Our driver will pick us in Arbaminch airport having lunch  in the  afternoon, we will drive high into the mountains to Chencha to visit the Dorze people. They are known for their weaving culture which is reflected in their beautiful cotton clothes, fences, and beehive-shaped bamboo huts. Here you will learn their traditions, visit their houses and experience their daily lifestyle. You will get to see the process behind the food and alcohol production  from the famous banana trees and leaves.
Overnight in dorza lodge or Arbaminch Tourist hotel.

Arba Minch – Konso to Turmi

After breakfast drive to Arba Minch and after we get there you will take a boat trip in Lake Lake Chamo, to visit the crocodile market, it is a local name for a place in Lake chamo that the crocodiles went out of the lake and chill, there is no buying or selling, also you will see hippos and different kinds of birds.
After seeing chamo lake drive to Konso (a village recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site). These villages are over 400 years old. (91 km, 2 hours).
On the way visit an Alduba market (open only on Tuesdays). Here you will meet three different tribes, the Bena, the Hamer and the Tsemay who trade at the market. You can buy and sell many handmade products here. Visiting this colorful market will give you an in-depth experience of the rhythms of the Omo valley tribes.
Konso Village is fun to experience as you drive high up in the hills and see their unique columnar wooden structures. After Konso village, continue driving to Turmi , After Konso village drive to Turmi have dinner.

Drive Turmi to Dassench Village and back to Turmi

In the morning drive to Dassench village around Lake Turkana: this tribe lives just north of Kenya’s Lake Turkana. Their neighboring tribe is the Turkana people. The Daasanech are pastralists (cattle herders), but due to the harsh territory, they have moved south to grow crops and fish. Cattle are used by the tribesman for meat, milk and clothing. Often their cattle die from disease and drought, of all the tribes in the Omo Valley, the Daasanech are the poorest. And then we will drive bake to Turmi,
After we back from Turmi… on this day there will be a colorful market, we will take our time to visit the market also if we are lucky we have a chance to see most unique event of bull jumping- a ceremony when a boy is pronounced “man” after proving his capacity to jump up to 13 cattle’s stand in a row. The day includes a special event in which a woman shows her appreciation for the bride groom by letting the boys whip them with a stick until they bleed. At night the day is called of after a colorful party with Evan gady dance.
Overnight You will sleep in Buska Lodge Turmi for the night.

drive from Turmi to Jinka and visit Mursi Tribes

In the Morning drive to Jinka then have coffee or lunch there and drive to Mursi village- a minority people living in the Lower Omo Valley. The women in this tribe are known for a big clay plate they put in their lips for decoration, whereas the men are known for the different patterns they paint on their body for decoration.
then in the late afternoon you will visit the village of Ari tribe. The Ari have the largest population in the lower Omo valley. Women who wear skirts made from bananas are called Enset and there are also blacksmiths, women making pottery.

Fly from Jinka to Addis Ababa

Upon arrival in from Jinka Addis Ababa, transfer to Hotel. Same day During in the afternoon, visit historical sites in Addis Ababa including mercato where you found the big market in Addis Ababa & the National Archaeological Museum, where we will view the 3.2 million year old remains of “Lucy”, whose skeletal remains when discovered in 1974. Process to hotel.
We say goodbye to dear our client’s with a visit to a cultural restaurant, enjoying the great Ethiopian food together with traditional music and dance from all over this fascinating country.
